Wierszowisko

What’s Wierszowisko all about?

The Festival of Polish Poetry “Wierszowisko” in Great Britain has been adopted in 2012 from Holland where the idea of the contest was invented and introduced among community of Polish supplementary schools.

Each year the contest is being given a theme which defines a type and a style of the chosen poems. The Grand Finale takes place at the POSK Theatre in London. The “Wierszowisko” Polish Poetry Festival is being run in two categories: individual and team performance.  All participants receive certificates, medals and prizes. The winners get valuable prizes and trophies. The jury consists of well-known stage & theatre personalities both form Poland and Great Britain sharing experience and adding value to the contest.

From year to year “Wierszowisko” is becoming more and more popular among community of Polish supplementary schools in the UK. The contest gives a great opportunity to promote Polish poetry and offers a chance to discover and express drama and poetry declaiming talents among children.
