Wierszowisko 2018 is already behind us! We miss this huge, colorful emotions – that is why we are already planning new attractions for next year’s Wierszowisko!
The theme of this year’s, 7th edition of Wierszowisko was animals! “Stork, stork is flying! Go on, lively, children! “Rhymes and stanzas about cats and dogs, and frogs, beetles, and even storks, which travel the world. Poems about animals from my backyard and from the big world.
The Polish Educational Society in London would like to thank all the schools that have been entered and qualified to participate in the competition. We know that some of you visited us from far away and we are very happy that we could have fun in such a wonderful group of young, talented Poles. This year’s level of participants was very high! Please, believe us – Our international, experienced Jury sometimes had a huge problem with selecting the “best” performers, although for us – all children are unique and the best!
We also thank our amazing Jury, who faced a really difficult challenge this year. Among the Jury members were:
Ms Agnieszka Lońska – president of the Polish School Forum in the Netherlands, an organisation that initiated the idea of Wierszowisko.
Ms. Barbara Wojda – president of the Polish Educational Society in Belgium, and we hope, that Wierszowisko will also happen there.
Ms. Danuta Lemoyne – president of the Polish Educational Society in France, the youngest PES organisation, and we hope that she will also catch the Wierszowisko bug.
Ms. Małgorzata Lasocka, vice-president of Polish Educational Society in London and long-term director of the Polish Supplementary School of Maria Curie Skłodowska in London. It was Mrs Małgosia who brought Wierszowisko to the UK.
Mrs. Renata Chmielewska – an experienced theater actor who visited Our Wierszowisko for the fifth time I was valiant in the role of the Leading Jury – thank you!
Consul Jerzy Uklański – Consul for Polonia issues.
Mr Marcin Marchelski – Program Director of Radio Star – Your Radio on the Islands.
We would love to thank the polish supplementary school, without which this year’s Wierszowisko would not have been successful. Polish Saturday School named after Tadeusz Kosciuszko in the Ealing district (London) has made a great effort that our participants and the audience can spend together joyful, safe, full of positive emotions day. When others were having fun – more than 20 volunteers (teachers and even a parent!). The Tadeusz Kościuszko’s Polish Saturday School of Ealing, was involved in the efficient organisation of the whole event. We would also like to thank our sponsors: the Embassy of the Republic of Poland (the project was co-financed under the funds of the Polish diaspora of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland), the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, and to our private sponsors:
– The Optimal Solicitors office – the law firm regularly engages in Polish affairs, gladly supports all events where children have a chance to perform!
-FerPay.com group – transfers without borders – International Transfer Platform,
– POLISH VILLAGE BREAD bakery, whose fresh, multi-flavored buns spread in the blink of an eye!
We also thank our media patron: Radio Star – Your Radio on the Islands. This year we hosted 260 participants from 41 schools at the POSK Theatre and we hope to get a similar result for the next year. We invite you to our photo album: – facebook https://www.facebook.com/PMSLondyn/
